Feb Classes

We’ve got an incredible line up of AMAZING education and development courses this February you and your teams won’t want to miss!

We kick off February with our first of four NAAEI Credential programs CAMT! The Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) program started on February 4th. We are honored to have Paul Rhodes, CAMT, NAAEI Senior Faculty, and Instructor back with at AATC leading 20+ candidates through the CAMT program. If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch Paul in action, feel free to stop by the association and experience his style of instruction. Not only does Paul teach CAMT nationally; he is also an instructor for TAA and this year he will lead 3 seminars for NAA in Boston! We are honored to have him with us this year.

This year we are delivering a new style of POWER HOUR: Marketing Your Communities for 2020!  Each power hour will build off the prior one and we are providing all students their own marketing binders. Each of the Power Hour sessions will meet once every four months to strategically discuss and design marketing hot points based on the season. Tracy Cherry with Summit Properties, AKA – Marketing EXTRAORDINAIRE, is going to lead all three! Tracy’s background is in all things marketing and her track record is outstanding!

Let’s talk HVAC Troubleshooting – Tonya Lambert, NATE Certified from Century Supply A/C is going to lead this (always sold out) program on Feb 12.  Tonya is one of AATC’s goto Instructors for all things related to Refrigerant, Circuit Troubleshooting, and Knowing your Motors. Most importantly, your service teams will ultimately save you money when they are trained properly and hey, that’s what it’s about!

It’s that “year” again for TAA’s Legal Seminar: RedBook. We are delivering two sessions for you to choose from February 25th or March 17th.  Both seminars will be led by Attorney Jennifer Owen of Higier Allen & Lautin, PC. This is a MUST ATTEND for all property management employees. Come experience one of the sessions and you’ll learn the key changes to TAA’s Lease, Rental Application and other critical forms we use on a daily basis. There have been numerous changes to the lease contracts we use that have been put into law. By attending you’ll understand major operational issues and how legal and regulatory changes will impact how you operate. Additional topics for discussion will be: Application, Lease, Resident Life & Management Issues, Ending the lease, Evictions and Remedies, Business Practices, Physical Plan Issues and Operations, Leases and Addenda, and Specialized Housing.

These seminars only occur bi-annually so don’t miss this opportunity and register today. Seating is limited!

Lunch and Law – FRAUD

Our Legal Series Continues with this month’s Lunch and Law Program centered around FRAUD. Attorney Daniel Paz of The Paz Law Firm, PLLC will be with us on Feb 20th to help us LOOK BEYOND THE PAPER: The Truth is Out There!  Often times what we see on paper is not always the truth. Whether it is an application, a request for an emotional support animal, or your own rent roll, a dishonest person will try to get you to believe something exists on paper that doesn’t exist in reality!  Make your reservation today to join us not only for lunch but for an hour of time with Attorney Daniel Paz and we dig deep into Fraud. We will discuss some of the more common misrepresentations seen in our industry, how to identify and protect your property from being a victim of them, and what to do when you discover the truth that lies beyond the paper!
