Did you know that March is Red Cross month? It is one month of the year for us to take the time to recognize our country’s everyday heroes, who give their time to help people in need. According to the Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds to respond to patient emergencies. Accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease may all require blood. All blood types are needed. The American Red Cross also provides shelter, food and emotional support during emergencies and disasters. The Red Cross relies on the heroic efforts of “YOU” and volunteers to get the job done.
The American Red Cross will be testing for COVID-19 antibodies at our upcoming blood drive.
