“Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make me a match. Find me a find, Catch me a catch. Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Look through your book, And make me a perfect match.” –Fiddler on the Roof
For AATC members, finding supplier partners can be a challenge. It’s difficult to identify products and services that match a property’s unique needs. Not that all vendor searches rise to the level of a Broadway musical, but it can be a daunting task.
The primary goal of the 2018 AATC-AAGD Business Exchange presented by Maintenance Supply HQ is to facilitate those relationships. The Business Exchange is a great place to find those matches and help the National Apartment Association Political action committees (NAA PAC).
When it comes to NAA PAC, nothing beats the Business Exchange. It is the biggest and best NAA PAC fundraiser in the nation! Last year, we raised more than $120,000! Over the years, the Business Exchange has raised more than $900,000 for NAA PAC.
“The Business Exchange is the largest, single NAA PAC fundraiser. I’m proud to be a part of something that important and significant to our industry”, says NAA Chairman Jeff Lowry, Madera Residential.
Just reminder, The Business Exchange is a reverse trade show. It is an opportunity for supplier partners to meet one-on-one with owner-management company executives who can make a buying decision. In other words, it’s networking on steroids… association speed-dating!
Business Exchange Committee Chair and AAGD President, Char McCurdy, Madera Residential says, “for me, the best part about the Business Exchange is networking with my property management peers and supplier partners.”
This year’s event is Wednesday, August 22nd, from 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m. at the Irving Convention Center (500 West Las Colinas Boulevard, Irving, TX 75039). Lunch is served from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. with the first one-on-one meetings occurring during lunch. Per usual, form 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. there will be a series of fourteen, seven-minute one-on-one meetings.
In addition to a fabulous networking lunch, we are excited to have special guest Congress Pete Session as our guest speaker.
AATC President-Elect Sherry Jordan, Lumacorp, adds “I’m thrilled to have Congressman Session attend our event. Also, special thanks to Paul Brown and Maintenance Supply HQ. They have been extremely generous with their time, talent and treasure in support of AATC’s advocacy initiatives including being the presenting sponsor for this year’s Business Exchange NAA PAC fundraising event.”
Per usual, supplier partners must be members of both AATC and AAGD to attend. Supplier registration is exclusively online at www.aatcnet.org. This year, it is $430 per supplier attendee; limit four attendees per supplier company. Payment is only by personal credit card – no corporate/company credit cards allowed. No one will be admitted without prior payment; no shows will be charged, and no walk-ins will be accepted. Cancellations must be confirmed by August 17 – No refunds after the cancellation date.
“As an AATC & AAGD product/service member, the Business Exchange is the one event that is red-lettered on my calendar each year. It is the best multifamily business-networking event in the world,” says Business Exchange presenting sponsor Paul Brown, Maintenance Supply HQ.
With more than 700 attendees, lots of business deals get done in two hours. Nicolle Block, AMLI Residential, says, “For me, it is a way to take care of multiple vendor meetings in one location at one time. Every year, I find a new supplier or product that saves me time and money.”
This event is free to Owner/Management company attendees. For owner/management attendees, you can add attendees at any time; however, your registration includes a commitment to replace attendees if needed. If you have attendee changes or event questions, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Perry Pillow at (817) 616-0354.
AATC Government Affairs Committee Chair Jason Busboom, Busboom Group, says “your attendance will ensure that our industry’s voice is heard on Capitol Hill. I am looking forward to visiting with our vendor partners and once again setting a fundraising record for NAA PAC. Way to go AATC & AAGD!”
Do something profitable, something for NAA PAC, something that’s matchy-matchy—be there on August 22nd.
