The first to arrive. The last to leave. Your right hand. The glue that holds your whole property together. While each person on your staff is imperative, your property would literally fall apart without your maintenance teams. It is easy to take their knowledge and skill set for granted, so why hasn’t anyone ever organized an event specifically designed to highlight what it takes to be an outstanding maintenance technician in the multifamily industry? Oh, wait…
Maintenance Mania® is a national program in which maintenance technicians compete against each other in various skill-based games. Not only is it a skill competition, but it’s a spirit competition as well. You’ll see matching shirts, hear company chants, and feel the competitive spirit around you.
There are two types of competitors: casual and hard-core. Your casual competitors are those whose sole purpose is to have a good time; they come for the experience and aren’t too focused on the clock or score card. Everyone is a winner as far as they are concerned. The hard-core competitors (yes, “those guys…”) are the ones who take each game to heart and are in it to win it—they take no prisoners! It’s obvious that they spend hours upon hours practicing, and their hard work usually pays off. The fact of the matter is that regardless of which type of competitor you are – or which type of competition you come to see – that you should come to Maintenance Mania on March 1st, 2018. AATC and AAGD are so proud to be able to provide this event for our members, as it is a favorite for many.
Region 6 is made up of DFW, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. The top participant from each region, as well as ten wild card competitors, will go on to compete for the National Championship title at the NAA Conference in June. We hope to be able to send someone to San Diego this year to represent Region 6!
Interested? Then here’s what you need to know:
- Maintenance Mania will be held on Thursday, March 1st at the Arlington Convention Center.
- Competitor registration is open! Click the link to register!
- Participation in all games, INCLUDING the race car event, is required to advance to the National Championship and represent Region 6.
Remember, only the top times will be considered, and all finalists are selected by the National Apartment Association. Spectator registration is open as well; visit aatcnet.org or aagdallas.com to reserve your spot. We’ll feed you, too! We hope to see everyone there!
