“To succeed, you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” – Tony Dorsett.
One of the tenets of AATC is to inspire. Have you ever taken a moment to think about what that means? It means to create a positive feeling in a person or to fill someone with the urge or ability to do something.
Do you feel inspired?
As an AATC member, we hope you feel just that. As our motto (Educate, Advocate, Network, and Inspire) suggests, we want you to feel and experience all those things. AATC does many things that we hope inspire you to do something beyond yourself. We hope you grow with compassion during your tenure as a member and feel compelled to help someone else, even if it’s a small thing. We also hope you are, in turn, able to inspire someone else to do the same thing. Spreading kindness is good for everyone and doesn’t cost a penny.
We are proud to be part of the annual AAGD/AATC Toys for Tots Campaign each and every year. Last year, our combined membership raised over $70,000 to purchase toys for needy boys and girls in the area. No child can choose their station in life and they should always have the same opportunities as other children when it comes to celebrating the Holiday Season. No other program provides the same volume of toys as the Marine Toys for Tots program. If you’d like to donate a toy or cash, you can drop it off at AATC offices or any of the various apartment communities in the area are participating in on-site toy collections.
We hope to see everyone at the annual AAGD/AATC Toys for Tots Reception and Christmas Party on December 12th at the Hotel Intercontinental in Addison. Register early for a price break, as the price increases from $65 to $75 on December 8th. Registration is open on AATC’s website. Bring an unwrapped toy when you come and kick off the holiday season by helping a child in need!
After the Toy Drive Reception, our focus will shift to the UGM Charity Bowling Tournament benefitting Union Gospel Mission. Once again, our members step up to the plate and inspire in ways we didn’t think possible. Each year, we raise over $20,000 for Union Gospel Mission of Fort Worth. At $2.23 per meal, this money will feed over 8,500 people. So, as you can see, your contribution matters—even if just a little.
Back by popular demand, the committee is bringing back the “booze wagon” as one of the Gospel Goodies to be raffled off. Bring a bottle of your choice to add to the wagon when you arrive. You can reserve your Bowling Lanes and Auction Baskets now at www.aatcnet.org so stay tuned for more details and mark your calendars for February 10th at Bowlero Euless (formerly AMF Showplace Lanes!)
