At the end of February, we were able to host our AATC-AAGD Maintenance Mania event in person, together, and the way we’ve always done it. Angel Diaz, Highmark Residential, was our overall winner for the sixth time. He left the Irving Convention Center assuming he would be traveling to Boston for the Maintenance Mania National Championship in June, and then something called the “new normal” arrived.
For 2020, the Maintenance Mania National Championship will transition to a new virtual format. This virtual competition will test the knowledge of maintenance professionals from across NAA’s affiliate network and provide them with a chance to win prizes and allow one lucky professional to be crowned the 2020 Maintenance Mania National Champion. To respect our attendees and participants’ health and well-being, NAA felt it would be best to hold this year’s competition virtually. Many of the participants are working on the front lines of this pandemic, and there are still many unknowns about our ability to travel and congregate in groups in the coming months. This virtual event will enable everyone to be able to participate in a safe environment.
Since we had our local event in person, there was no question that Angel would be the one to represent AATC in this new virtual format. He took a written test on August 14th, receiving one of the nation’s top 20 scores, which qualifies him to participate in the virtual championship event.
We ask that you join us on Friday, September 18th, at 2 pm to cheer on all maintenance superstars. The best part of this Friday Fun: the event is entirely FREE to attend!
