AATC 2019 Event Line-Up

by Annie Williams, AATC Director of Special Events

Although the apartment association’s board of directors usually plans our member programs and events more than a year in advance, this task has rapidly become a challenge. Our home for many events for the past several years has been the Arlington Convention Center. They’ve had a great facility in a good location at a reasonable value that easily takes care of our needs.

Unfortunately, or unfortunately – depending on your perspective, our friends at the Arlington CC are making plans to accommodate the rapidly-growing national gaming industry. The ACC is situated between the AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park and will soon become a gamer’s new Mecca.

This new focus has already displaced this year’s Business Exchange and our Lone Star Awards Leadership Celebration. In 2019, we’ll be moving Maintenance Mania to the Irving Convention Center as well – but at an earlier date – on Thu Feb 7. That’s the only time we could secure the games after all the other national competitions had been scheduled which means our Mania competitors will need to register before Christmas! And if that’s not enough, moving Mania has forced us to bump our annual Bowling Tournament as well – now scheduled on Sat Mar 23m still at Bowlero. Don’t even ask about next year’s trade show … that might end up in Nicolle Block’s backyard!

Now that you’re dizzy following the bouncing ball, here’s our schedule (for the time being) during the coming 12-months:

Thu Feb 7 – Maintenance Mania, Irving Convention Center

Sat Mar 23 – UGM Charity Bowling Tournament, Bowlero—Euless

Tue Apr 2 – Spring Fling Golf Tournament, Friday, April 5th, Mansfield National

Fri May 3 – The Divas Cup, Westdale Hills Golf Club

Wed Aug 21 – The Business Exchange, Irving Convention Center (waiting for the ICC to confirm our date)

Tue Sep 17 – State of the Industry, Westin Galleria (tentative)

Fri Sep 17 – Lone Star Awards Leadership Celebration, Fort Worth Convention Center (also tentative)

We hope you’ll put all of these important dates in your calendars, including those with a few things to figure out. We’re excited about the year-to-come and know you’ll want to be included. More to come!
